025 - [Action]

[Jenny's outside sitting in the closes tree to house 36, and for the first time, people can spot her actually...reading a book? Well, it's not her usual activity, but hey, it doesn't mean she doesn't do it sometimes. Anyway, she looks pretty interested in what she's reading, the big question is, what book is it that's managed to catch this perky soldier's eye? Guess someone is just going to have to find out.]

Well, there's lots of possibilities out there, different dimensions, worlds, or times. There's even the possibility of an alternate reality, but only the Malnosso know the truth about it.

[As she talks, Jenny pulls a knife off her belt and starts playing with it. Skillfully twirling the blade between her fingers.]

[At the knife, Buffy takes a wide step back and immediately brings her arms up in a defensive stance. And holds them there, watching as Jenny merely plays with it. Slowly and with some shame, she lowers her arms.]

Aah, err, sorry. Y'know, someone brings out a pointy sharp thing, I get ready to kick their butts. Sort of a gut instinct thing.

[The moment Buffy tenses, Jenny pauses her knife playing to watch her. She wasn't really worried about it, but hey, she was going to try to make someone feel threatened.]

No worries. Though I'm sorry about my habit. Didn't mean to put you on guard.

No, no. Totally my bad. It's pretty pathetic to admit, but I've become more accustomed to people attacking rather than just...displaying a surprising amount of knife skill.

[She looks perplexed, but responds by taking a wooden stake out of her back pocket.]

My weapon of choice. Believe me, it's more effective than it looks.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2009-05-07 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, most things are fairly effective. It just depends on your preference. I'd prefer to have a gun on me myself, but I'm alright with knives too.

So, it's good to see another fighter about. We should have some sort of spar sometime. For training purposes of course.

Guns never seem to do me much good. Give me a nice sword or an axe. Or, a stake. [She punctuates the statement by puncturing an invisible adversary in the air beside her.]

But I'm less a fighter and more a slay-- A sparring match would be great, sometime. It's been a while since I've sparred with someone. Y'know, with someone who wasn't trying to kill me or my friends rather than just..train.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2009-05-07 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it depends what you're using them for. I imagine they wouldn't be useful in certain circumstances, but in others, they're great.

Well, I can guarantee there won't be any killing on my end. I mean, I'm a fighter, not a killer. Though the no killing part of it seems to come with having a pacifist for a dad.

[Pacifism was something she liked the sound of, but knew to be impractical. And useless. Pacifism lead to getting killed. She was sure of it.]

Fighter, killer. The line's been so blurred in my life that I can't even remember when a line was there. I'm...a something. Something called a Slayer. Destiny and prophecy and all that. Like one big fat contract that I never signed but I'm still bound by.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2009-05-07 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
That's interesting. I'm just a soldier myself, or generated anomaly, or whatever you'd like to call me. Let's just say my creation wasn't exactly...planned.

Generated? Creation?

You mean, you weren't, you know, born? I thought you said something about a father?

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2009-05-07 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I do have a father, but he's my father because I was progenated from his DNA. The details are a bit complicated to explain.

Right. Okay. Happy-go-lucky science. I can..sort of get that.

And you're alright with the fact that you've been...progenated?
