012 - [Action]

[And anyone around will find Jenny laying on the river bank. She's got her head on her hands like a pillow, and for once, looks completely bored out of her mind as she just looks up at the sky.]

[[ooc: Somebody please just poke her. She really is bored right now.]

You sound fond of him. Is he here as well?

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods.]

Yeah, he is. He showed up here not long after I did. It was good to see him again, but I'm afraid neither of us have taken too well to settling. We prefer to travel.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He's reminded of Carlisle and the rest of his family. He looks back at the ground as he walks and answers slightly quieter.]

It must be difficult for you.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's more difficult for dad then me. I don't really mind it too much as long as I keep busy. Maybe it's because I'm not a true Time Lord.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh...

[ He sorta snaps out of it and looks back at Jenny, though his curious expression might seem a bit off if she pays enough attention.]

Are you the only on of your kind?

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I consider myself a Time Lord like my dad, but in truth I'm not, so yeah.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's good that you consider yourself to be one of them. In a way, it keeps you from being alone.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Nobody is ever alone unless they choose to be. I'm only a few months old and I know that.

[She puts on one of her perkier smiles.]

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He doesn't answer at first, but he moves his gaze to the river. He's actually considering that.]

You seem older than that.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because I was created from a Progenation machine.

[She states this as if this were an obvious fact.]

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean progeneration...

[ He sounds a little hesitant. He doesn't want to sound like he's correcting her, so he's saying it more like a question or suggestion rather than...not.]

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Progenation.

[She knows what she's talking about.]

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He has no idea what she's talking about. He's waiting for her to explain.]

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's like a clone machine, except it doesn't make a duplicate of the person who's DNA it uses.

Instead, it uses the DNA to create a new being, and then makes them grow really fast while inside the machine. It only takes a few minutes.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
How were you born with any forms of knowledge, then? DNA doesn't carry that sort of thing.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You're from Earth, so it's alien technology for you. You wouldn't understand it.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder why that is?

[ He's very irritated, now. Of course he's referring to not being able to hear Jenny. He feels bad for snapping at her after a moment, but he can't help but feel annoyed anyway.]

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[She gives him a curious look.]

What's got you so bothered?

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, it's nothing. You just aren't the first person to tell me something like that.
Edited 2008-08-13 01:37 (UTC)

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Well, unless you're my dad, it's impossible for someone to understand everything. There's always things that people won't understand.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ Insert scowl here.]

I'm normally very good at...understanding explanations.

I'm not used to someone telling me I wouldn't understand and knowing that they're probably right.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
That so. Well, if you can manage to understand my dad, then you can understand anything. So perhaps you should try talking to him first.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I would have any more luck with him. You're both from the same world.

[identity profile] mydadsthedoctor.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Not really. I was created on Messaline as a soldier. Dad's from the planet Gallifrey though.

[identity profile] cullen-blood.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
That...wasn't what I meant exactly.
