054 - [Action/Accidental Voice]
[Sitting against the wall of a mountain, a river by her side, a familiar blond is huddled, her knees up to her chest, and her hands holding her head as if it were in severe pain. Her eyes are closed tightly as she mumbles quickly and quietly to herself, completely unaware of her surrounding or even that the journal is recording.]
...Stop it, stop it, stop it. Just go away. Be quiet. Stop. Please just go away. I don't want to hear it anymore...
[In a mere second, her voice goes from a quiet mumble, to a yell.]
GO AWAY!
...Stop it, stop it, stop it. Just go away. Be quiet. Stop. Please just go away. I don't want to hear it anymore...
[In a mere second, her voice goes from a quiet mumble, to a yell.]
GO AWAY!
[action]
My head...it won't stop... [Without even asking, she moves her hands so there's one on each side of her father's head, pulling him close that her forehead and his are touching.] Listen...you can hear it. It's so loud... [Closing her eyes, she does something that she'd never done before. Perhaps it was just instinct coming up because of the insanity that seemed to have come over, or perhaps she had learned it somehow and forgotten, but now, at this very moment, she was managing to open her mind. Sending the sound that seemed to be the only thing radiating throughout her mind. A beat of four. Drums. Clear and precise. Over and over again, never stopping.]
[action]
By the time he stumbles across the two of them on the path, Jenny is in the middle of forcing the Doctor to listen. He stumbles to a stop, a few metres away from where the two of them are crouching. He's not entirely sure what this means, or what it will mean. Are the drums the same? Are they his, somehow transplanted? And if so...most importantly...will the Doctor hear them?]
[action] 1/3 I mean it this time :|

[action]
...No. It can't be.
[...And he finally notices the Master there. The Doctor looks up at him, so utterly terrified he's panting.]
[action]
[action]
With difficulty, especially as he's still partly recovering, he pulls himself together and walks slowly over to Jenny, not saying anything as he crouches down himself. If it matches, maybe that will mean...? He's afraid to finish the thought. He starts to reach out, and the pauses, and looks over at the Doctor. When he speaks, it's vaguely sarcastic.]
Might I? Or will you charge at me? You heard it, though. [He taps at the side of his head.] That's what's in my head.
[action]
...Don't. Just. Listen.. Don't you dare hurt her...[His voice is weak. It makes it rather difficult to be imposing.]
[No no no no no...It can't be - she can't... It's... It's not... It's not fair! Why her? Why now?]
[action]
[action] 1/2
[action]
[action]
...Well? [And that's Doctor!speak for "What do we do?"]
[action]
Can't either one of you get them out? [It felt like a stupid question, but a question she felt she had to ask all the same.]
[action]
What's going on? Jenny, are you all right?
[action]
It's an experiment. That's all it is. An experiment. They've managed to transfer a sample of them from my head to Jenny's.
[Well. He hopes. That would mean that they're movable. That they can be taken out.]
[action]
Jenny, come on. Look at me. Look at me. It's alright. We'll fix you, yeah. You'll be okay.
[He pulls her into his arms, but every time he touches her he can hear it - just a little. No wonder the Master went mad.]
[action]
[It's all she can think to say as her mind starts to race around the drumming to the last time she had heard these drums, and couldn't help but worry that the Malnosso had possibly set up for the same thing to happen again.]
[action]
[action]
[Drums drums drums. Doubling them in his head, even if only briefly, did not help at all. Turning on his heel, he begins to walk away, back to the village.]
[action]
....Alright. Think you can walk with us? [He starts getting up.]
[action]
[action]
You'll be all right, Jenny. [He glances warily at the Master, glad he's leaving, but wondering why he was there in the first place.]
[action]
It's okay, Jack. [He has a good idea of what he's thinking.] He has good reason for wanting to help with this one.
Alright, Jenny. I suppose when we get home we'll have to start our own little 'Academy'. I'm going to teach you how to control that mind of yours.
[action]
And the "Academy" can wait until I can think properly again, yeah?
[action]
[He squeezes Jenny's shoulder lightly, trying to be reassuring.]
